Why this program
Today’s Organisations more than ever need engaged employees showing initiative, constantly looking for improvement opportunities, who dare to address problems frankly, think innovative and act entrepreneurial. At the same time, they often experience company cultures with collective norms and ways of working, that are hindering these behaviours.
Amy Edmondson coined the term “Fearless Organization” for organizations that succeed to minimize fear and maximize individual and organizational performance. Fearless Organizations have a climate of psychological Safety. Both academic and industry research identify psychological safety as the #1 determining factor of high-performing people and teams.
Psychological Safety at the workplace describes the conviction of employees, that it is not dangerous to take interpersonal risks. Examples for interpersonal risks in a work context are: asking (uncomfortable) questions, ask for Feedback, address Mistakes and Problems or put a new idea up for discussion. In an operational excellence context, these are essential qualities, when employees are expected to (self-)improve their workplaces and processes, identify problems and involve themselves in finding and trying out solutions, practicing Teamwork and PDCA.
In this training we will learn about our psychological Safety Needs and how they are influencing behaviours. Leaders and Coaches who want to develop fearless organizations, need to set high performance standards and empower employees to achieve them. In a psychologically safe environment, they will learn, grow and make mistakes while avoiding failure.
